WS_FTP Home and PWP @att.net
Now that you've created your Web page, you need a way to get it up where it can be seen. This application will allow you to do that, and a lot more.
Please read the information in our PWP FAQ if you would like to publish your pages from another ISP.
Once you have downloaded and installed the application, launch it and activate your license key. If you are using WS_FTP Home as a trial, select Activate Later and click Next.
Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.
Basic Installation and Configuration
- You will see the Welcome screen for the WF_FTP Home connection wizard. Click Next. For future reference, the connection wizard is located under File | Connect | Connection Wizard.
- Enter the name of your site and click Next.
- Enter the name of the server: upload.att.net. AT&T Worldnet(R) dial-up users can also use: upload.worldnet.att.net. Click Next.
- Enter your Personal Web Page e-mail ID (Do not include the @att.net part). Enter your password. Click Next.
- From the Connection Type, select FTP/SSL (AUTH SSL) and click Next.
- Click the Advanced button. AT&T Worldnet(R) dial-up users should skip this section. Instead, click Finish to connect.
- Highlight SSL on the left pane and select Ipswitch WS_FTP Default Certificate from the Client certificate pull-down menu. Click OK and then click Finish.
- When the Non-Trusted Certificate window opens, select Trust this certificate and click OK. AT&T Worldnet(R) dial-up users can skip this step.
- When you have connected, you will see the main FTP window. Navigate to and highlight the files you want to upload in the left pane, then click the arrow pointing to the right. These files will then be uploaded to the AT&T Worldnet(R) PWP server, making them viewable on the World Wide Web. When the transfer has completed, the right pane (the PWP server directory) will refresh, displaying the files you uploaded.
If you have followed the instructions exactly and are having problems uploading, try the troubleshooting steps in our PWP FAQ.
If you ever need to back up the pages on the PWP servers to your hard drive, just select the files in the right pane (the PWP server directory) and click the arrow pointing to the left. These files will then be downloaded to your hard drive. When the transfer has completed, The left pane (your hard drive) will refresh, displaying the files you just downloaded.
