Newsgroups and PWP @att.net
AT&T Worldnet Service provides many newsgroups to get you the help you need with your personal Web pages. Before posting your question, please read the postings in the newsgroup to see if your problem has already been discussed. You can learn a lot from other peoples problems, and might even save yourself some time in the process.
Posting tips
When you post to the personal Web page newsgroups, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Please post your URL.
The Web address used to access your Web pages is called a URL (Uniform Resource Locator). It takes much less time and trouble to just click the URL to your Web pages than to open your message headers and cut and paste your URL into our browser. Putting your URL into your signature file is a good way to help, and to advertise your site.
Your URL looks like this: http://home.att.net/~emailid
Where emailid is the part of your e-mail address to the left of the @ sign. - Please give all the facts.
When you post to the PWP newsgroups, it would help greatly to communicate and solve your problem quickly if you include:- A clear description of the steps you took and problems you encountered with each step.
- Any software you are using, such as HTML editor, Web browser, and FTP client and operating system.
- The full URL (web address) of your page: http://home.att.net/~emailid
- Please do not pull or delete the pages you are asking about.
It is much easier diagnose your HTML problem and formulate a solution if you to leave the page that caused the error on the server be so we can examine it. - Please post to the appropriate newsgroup.
It helps greatly if you post to the appropriate newsgroup. Choose the newsgroup that most closely fits your topic from one of the newsgroups listed in our PWP FAQ. - Can't see any answer to questions?
Most newsreaders show only the original posts, with a plus (+) next to them if there are replies to the posts. To see the replies, click the plus, and the thread (conversation) will expand.
The AT&T Worldnet help newsgroups are monitored by AT&T employees, and they should have the answers to any of your questions. For a list of all of the AT&T Worldnet Service help newsgroups, see Getting Help Through Newsgroups.
