Fetch and PWP @att.net
Fetch comes pre-configured with the normal FTP settings to successfully upload your Web page to AT&T Worldnet Service, with one exception. Therefore, you should not need to change any Preferences settings other than the one illustrated below.
Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.
You can also use this application to backup your Web site.
- First, from the Customize menu, choose Preferences. Then click on the Upload tab.
- The critical selection on the upload tab is default non-text format; it must be raw data to successfully display your images. Choose the selections illustrated below and click on the OK button.
- To prepare for the uploading of your pages to AT&T Worldnet Service you may find it easier to store all your Web pages in a folder labeled Uploads. At any rate, make sure you know where they are located on your hard drive. Now connect to AT&T Worldnet Service with your dialer and once connected double-click on the Fetch icon. You are now ready to begin your uploads.
- Fetch should open with the New Connection screen showing. Fill in the appropriate information as required.
- Host: upload.att.net or upload.worldnet.att.net
- User ID: Your e-mail ID (the part to the left of the @ in your e-mail address)
- Password: Your e-mail password.
- Directory: Leave blank in most cases.
- At this point, you should be successfully connected to the AT&T Worldnet PWP servers. Notice how the Fetch screen has now changed to two panes. The left hand pane is your actual directory containing the existing files for your home page; the right hand pane shows you are connected. Note: If you experience difficulties connecting or retrieving a file list, consult your help file or manual for information about passive mode transfers. If it's on, turn it off. If it's off, turn it on.
In the left hand pane the list of files or directories that exist should include files like personal.htm or index.htm.
Now you are ready to place, or rather put your files on the AT&T Worldnet Service Web server. To do this, select the Put file button.
- When you pressed the Put File button, it opens a normal folder window that allows you to select the files for upload to the AT&T Worldnet Service server. For example, if your files were kept in the uploads folder, you would select the uploads folder, double-click to open and select the file or files you wish to upload.
- During the course of the transfer, you will see the file name or names and the transfer status on the right-hand pane of Fetch. Once the transfer is completed, you may now close Fetch. You are finished! Congratulations!
Now, send messages to all your family and friends to come view your creations.
