DOS-based FTP and PWP @att.net

If you have a DOS based FTP client, uploading your Web pages to AT&T Worldnet Service is a breeze.

Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.

Simply follow these instructions below:

  1. Establish a dial-up connection with AT&T Worldnet Service.
  2. Open a DOS-prompt window.
  3. Change your PC's directory to the directory that contains the file you wish to upload (i.e. cd a:\).
  4. Type ftp at the dos prompt and press the Enter key.
  5. Type open upload.att.net or open upload.worldnet.att.net and press the Enter key.
  6. Type in your e-mail ID (do not include the @worldnet.att.net part) and press the Enter key.
  7. Enter your e-mail password and press the Enter key.
  8. Type binary to select binary mode transfer and press the Enter key.
  9. Type put filename.jpg (to upload your file a:\filename.jpg) and press the Enter key.
  10. Repeat as necessary.
  11. Type bye and press the Enter key.
  12. You're now ready to use the tag <img src="filename.jpg"> from your own html source to include the file you have just uploaded.

If you've followed the instructions exactly and are having problems uploading, try the troubleshooting steps in our PWP FAQ.

Note: If you're running Windows 95, you might need to upgrade your Dial Up Networking component to DUN 1.2, or a 1.3 variant. To do this, go to the following page and scroll down to Networking.
