Using AT&T Worldnet WebNews
AT&T Worldnet Service has provided a WebNews interface for those people who are unfamiliar with regular newsreaders or like the convenience of using a browser to read newsgroups.
There are three basics to newsgroups:
To read posts:
- Go to http://webnews.att.net
- All the AT&T Worldnet Help Newsgroups are listed on this page. For the purpose of this example we'll select the E-mail Software link.
- The first page of the newsgroup's posts will be displayed. On this page you can:
- See more posts by clicking the Next link beside the page number.
- Perform a search using the Search newsgroup box and Search button.
- Click the WebNews Home link to go back to the main Web News page.
- Click the Refresh link to check for any new posts.
- Click the Help link for comprehensive Web News help.
- Click one of the Subjects to read a post.
For this example, I'll choose How do I get AT&T CD/Software

- The post, and any replies to the post, will be displayed in chronological order. From this page you can:
- Reply to the particular post by clicking the Reply button that is on the bottom-right of each post.
- Click the WebNews Home link to go back to the main WebNews page.
- Click the Back to Newsgroup link to return to the particular newsgroup.
- Click the New Post link to create a new post.
- Click the Refresh link to check for any new posts.
- Click the Help link for comprehensive WebNews help.
To create posts:
- Go to http://webnews.att.net
- Click on the newsgroup appropriate to your question or concern.
- Click the New Post link.
- Fill in your e-mail address, a concise and descriptive subject, and your question/problem in the appropriate fields. Click the Post button.
- You will receive a confirmation that your message was posted in the corresponding newsgroup.
- You can view your post by returning to the appropriate newsgroup. You can also perform a search by entering your e-mail address in the Search Newsgroup field and clicking the Search button. This will display all of your recent posts.
To reply to posts:
- On the bottom-right of the post that you want to reply to, click the Reply button.
- Fill in your e-mail address and enter your reply in the appropriate fields.
- Click the Reply button.
- You will receive a confirmation that your message was posted in the corresponding newsgroup.
