Outlook Express 4 Account Options
If you want to add an account, refer to WURD on Outlook Express and AT&T Worldnet Service. You can access your Outlook Express 4 account options by going to the Tools menu, and selecting Accounts.
Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.
To review mail account options:
Highlight your AT&T Worldnet Service e-mail account, and click the Properties button.
These are some of the more common mail account options and their explanations divided by the tabs in the dialogue box.
- General Tab
- Mail Account: This is the name of the account that will show up in the Mail Accounts list.
- Name: Your name
- Organization: AT&T Worldnet Service
- E-mail Address: Your e-mail address
- Reply Address: Put the address you want reply mail to be sent to you. If you want reply mail just to come back to your normal e-mail account, just leave this field blank.
- At the bottom of the general tab is a check box that says Include this account when doing a full send and receive. If you want this account to be checked when you click the Send and Receive button, then check this box. If this box is left unchecked, you'll need to manually select this account to be checked.

- Servers Tab
- Outgoing Mail: mailhost.worldnet.att.net
- Incoming Mail: postoffice.worldnet.att.net
- Under Incoming Mail Server choose Log on Using: and fill in the following information:
- Account Name: your account name (the part before the @ sign in your e-mail address)
- Password: Your e-mail password

- Connection Tab
- Connect using LAN: If you're already going to be dialed into AT&T Worldnet Service when you check your mail, choose this option
- Connect Using my Phone Line: Select this option if you want Outlook Express to dial into AT&T Worldnet Service when you open the program
- Connect Using IE or 3rd Party Dialer: Select this option to use the same dialing option you have setup with Internet Explorer.

The remaining two tabs, Security and Advanced are for advanced users only and changes are not recommended for the average user.
To review news account options:
Highlight your AT&T Worldnet Service news account, and click the Properties button.
These are some of the more common news account options divided up by the tabs in the dialogue box.
- General Tab
- News Account: This is the name that will appear in the list of news accounts
- Name: Your name
- Organization: AT&T Worldnet Service
- E-mail Address: Your e-mail address
- Reply Address: This is the address you want replies to come to. If you want replies to come to your normal account, then just leave this field blank.
- At the bottom of the general tab is a check box that says Include this account when checking for new messages. Put a check in this box.

- Server Tab
- Server Name: netnews.worldnet.att.net
- Everything else in this tab should be left blank.

- Connection Tab
- Connect Using LAN: If you're already going to be dialed into AT&T Worldnet Service, then choose this option.
- Connect Using my Phone Line: If you want Outlook Express to dial into AT&T Worldnet Service when you start open the program, choose this option.
- Connect Using IE or 3rd Party Dialer: If you want Outlook Express to use the settings you specified for IE, choose this option.

The remaining tab, Advanced, is not recommended for average users.
