Eudora Light
Neither AT&T Worldnet Service nor Qualcomm have sanctioned this document and neither are responsible for its contents.
Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.
To add an account:
- From the Tools menu, choose Options.
- Click the Getting Started icon.
- In the POP Account field, enter your e-mail ID followed by postoffice.worldnet.att.net
For example, if you e-mail address is bob@worldnet.att.net, you POP account is bob@postoffice.worldnet.att.net - In the Real Name field, enter your name as you want it to be seen when you send e-mail.
- For the Connection Method, select the Winsock option.

- In the POP Account field, enter your e-mail ID followed by postoffice.worldnet.att.net
- Click the Personal Information icon. The POP Account and Real Name fields will be filled in from the getting started window, so all you have to do is fill in the Return Address. Note that this does NOT have postoffice in it.

- Click the Hosts icon. Again, the POP Account is filled in. In the SMTP field, enter mailhost.worldnet.att.net. If you want to, you can enter the Fingerhost, although if you don't, you can still send and receive mail.

- Click the Checking Mail icon.
- The POP Account information will be filled in.
- Fill in the Check for mail every: with a number of you choice. I like 15, but you could make it longer. I would not recommend going shorter on this, it busies up the server if everybody checks it to often.
- Check the box for Save Password, unless you want to enter your e-mail password every time Eudora connects to the mail server.
- You could check the option to leave mail on server, but it will slow down your mail downloading as it gets full and isn't recommended.
- The Authentication Style is Password.
- Click the Sending Mail icon. Your POP account information and SMTP server information will be filled in. The check boxes define how you want the sending function to work. No matter how you set them up, you will still be able to send and receive mail.
- Next, log in to AT&T Worldnet Service and start Eudora. If this is the first time you have run Eudora, it will ask for your password. Enter the E-Mail password. After the first time, Eudora will remember it. If you have authentication problems, try entering your E-mail ID in lowercase.
That's about it. The remainder of the settings customize Eudora to how you want it to act for you.
