Configuring Eudora for AT&T Worldnet E-mail for For High-speed Connections & Other ISPs
Before you can set up Eudora to access your AT&T Worldnet e-mail from another ISP, you need to make the Esoteric Settings available in Eudora.
To make Esoteric Settings available in Eudora:
- Open your Applications folder.
- Open the Eudora Application folder.
- Right-click on Eudora, and choose Show Package Contents.
- Open the Contents folder.
- Change to folder view by clicking the middle view button in the upper-left of your finder window.
- Click the arrows beside PlugIns and PlugIns Disabled. This will list the contents of both. Drag the Esoteric Settings 6.0 file from the PlugIns Disabled folder to the PlugIns folder.
- Close all of your Finder windows.
- You are now ready to set up Eudora to get your e-mail.
To configure Eudora for For High-speed Connections & Other ISPs:
Note: These instructions will only make the changes required to let you send and receive e-mail. Once you've successfully received your mail, it's worth the time to review the other options and set up Eudora to suit your preferences.
- Launch Eudora.
- From the Special menu, choose Settings.
- Click the Getting Started icon.
- Fill in the settings as follows:
- In the Username field, enter your User ID (everything before the @ symbol in your e-mail address).
- In the Mail Server field, enter ipostoffice.worldnet.att.net
- In the Real Name field, enter either your name or whatever pseudonym you wish to use.
- In the SMTP Server field, enter imailhost.worldnet.att.net
- Leave the Return Address field blank.
- Click the Checking Mail icon.
- The settings here are auto-populated. Verify that the Mail Protocol is set to POP and that Authentication is set to Passwords. Select the Save Password option if you don't want to be prompted for a password when you check for mail.
- Scroll down the left side window, and click on SSL.
- Make the following changes:
- From the SSL for POP drop-down menu, choose Required (Alternate Port).
- From the SSL for SMTP drop-down menu, choose Required (Alternate Port).
- For Standard Port SSL Negotiation, select the Maximum Compatibility option.
- For Alternate Port SSL Negotiation, select the Maximum Compatibility option.
- Scroll down the left side window, and click on Port & Protocols.
- In the POP3 Port field, enter

In the SMTP Port field, enter 465
- Click the OK button.
- You are now set up to send and receive AT&T Worldnet e-mail.
