Download Eudora 5.1 - For High-speed Connections & Other ISPs

Note: You can't use the Norton 2000/2001 e-mail virus check while downloading with a server that requires SSL. Please read this additional information.

Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.

To add new account:

  1. Select the Personalities window by clicking on the Personalities tab as shown below.
    Personalities
  2. Right-click in the Personalities window, and select New from the menu.

  3. Select Skip directly to advanced account setup as shown below and click the Finish button.
    Account Settings

    • Real Name: Your name as you want it to be seen when you send e-mail
    • Return address: Your e-mail address
    • Login Name: Your e-mail address
    • SMTP Server (Outgoing): imailhost.worldnet.att.net
    • Allow authentication: checked
    • Default Domain: leave blank
    • Secure Sockets when Sending: Required, Alternate Port
    • Check Mail: checked

    Incoming Mail
  6. Open the Options as shown in the Re-configure existing account instructions shown above, click the Checking Mail icon, and make sure that the Send on check box is checked so authentication to the SMTP server can be accomplished.

The first time that you send e-mail by clicking on the Send button, it might fail. If this happens, click the Check Mail button. This will check for incoming mail and allow the authentication to take place for the sending of outgoing mail. After the first time, this should no longer be necessary.
