BeOS Mail Setup for AT&T Worldnet Service

The following are instructions for setting up your mail settings in BeOS for use with AT&T Worldnet Service. One of the advantages of BeOS is that you only need to specify your mail settings once in the preferences and all the mail programs will get the information from there.

Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.

To configure BeOS Mail:

From the Programs menu, select the Preferences and then choose E-mail.
Enter the following information:
- POP Username: Your e-mail ID (the part before the @ in your e-mail address)
- POP Password: Your e-mail password
- POP Host: postoffice.worldnet.att.net or postoffice.att.net
- SMTP Host: mailhost.worldnet.att.net or mailhost.att.net
- Real Name: Your name
This is also the box where you can choose your mail retrieval scheduling options and your new mail notification options. After this is all entered, click the Save button.
