E-mail Timeouts When Using McAffe or Norton/Symantec Virus Protection
There can be some problems sending e-mail using POP3 e-mail applications, such as Outlook Express and Eudora, and using the imailhost/ipostoffice (SSL) settings. These settings are usually used by DSL customers and when getting AT&T Worldnet mail while connected to another ISP.

Correcting the Errors in McAffee:
- Open McAffee.
- Double-click Security Center.
- Select the Virus scan tab and click on Configure VirusScan Options.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Click Advanced.
- Select the Email Scan option.
- Under Scan Options, uncheck Outbound e-mail messages.
- Close McAffee and save if prompted.
- Restart your computer.
Correcting the Errors in Norton/Symantec:
- Exit any running e-mail programs.
- Open Norton Antivirus.
- Click Options.
- Click Email Protection.
- Clear all boxes in the Protected email clients box.
- Clear the Enable email protection check box.
- Click the OK button.
