Viewing Headers in AT&T Worldnet Message Center
This page has instructions on viewing headers in the AT&T Worldnet Message Center.
To view headers:
- Click the E-mail Source button as shown below.
- You'll see a message with headers and the message as shown in the graphic below. The headers are the text above "Dear member" in the following message.
To copy header information:
- Highlight the entire message by dragging your cursor from the top left to the bottom right of the message text. The text will be highlighted as shown below. Note: In some browsers, you can double-click (click the left mouse button twice) or triple-click (click the left mouse button three times) on the first word to highlight the entire message.
- Right-click the highlighted text and select Copy from the menu.
To paste header information in a message:
- Click the Forward button as shown below.
- Right-click the empty message box and click on Paste. This will paste the message into the box. Uncheck the Include Original Message box and clear any text from the Original Message area. Type the forwarding address into the To box. We used abuse@att.net in the example below.
- Forward the message to the appropriate domain. You'll find additional information on fighting SPAM on our Fighting Junk E-mail (aka SPAM) page.
The SPAM used in this example is NOT one that should necessarily be forwarded to abuse@att.net. If the SPAM was sent using an AT&T Worldnet account or refers to a page hosted by AT&T Worldnet Service, THEN, you should forward the message to abuse@att.net.
Note: If the SPAM got past the Brightmail E-mail Screener, you should also forward the message (including the headers) to missed-spam@att.net. You probably won't receive an acknowledgment of any forwarded messages, but be assured they are used to build better rules to help improve the E-mail Screener.
