Adding an E-Mail Account in Entourage 2004
This document contains instructions for using Entourage on Mac OS X to access AT&T Worldnet e-mail through DSL or another ISP.
To send e-mail, you will first need to configure SSL Enabler.
To install and configure SSL Enabler:
- Download the software from Apple.
- Mount the disk image and copy SSL Enabler to your Applications folder. To proceed, you must have Administrator access to your computer.
- Launch SSL Enabler.
- Click the Add button.
- In the first row:
- In the Local Port field, enter 25
- In the Remote Server IP field, enter imailhost.worldnet.att.net
- In the Remote Port field, enter 465
- Click the Save button and quit SSL enabler. The SSL enabler application does not need to be running each time for this to work.
You now need to configure Entourage 2004 to use SSL Enabler.
To configure Entourage 2004:
- Launch Entourage 2004.
- From the Entourage menu, choose Account Settings...
- Click the New button.
- In the E-mail Address field, enter your AT&T Worldnet e-mail address and click the right arrow.
- Entourage will automatically determine the correct settings for AT&T Worldnet. Click the right arrow.
- Here you will need to modify some settings. Do the following:
- In the Your Name field, enter the name you want to use with this e-mail account.
- In the Account ID field, enter you entire e-mail address.
- In the Password field, enter your e-mail password.
- In the Incoming Mail Server field, enter ipostoffice.worldnet.att.net
- In the Outgoing Mail Server field, enter 127.0.0.1
- Check the Save Password in Mac OS X Keychain option if you do not want to enter your password each time you get mail.
- Click the right arrow. Do not click the Verify My Settings button.
- Click the Skip button.

- Do the following:
- In the Account Name field, enter a name for the account.
- Select the Include this account in my Send & Receive All schedule option.
- Click the Finish button.

- From the Entourage menu, choose Account Settings...
- Double-click on the account you just created.

- Click the Click here for advanced receiving options button.

- Select the This POP service requires a secure connection (SSL) option and then close this pop-up window.

- Click the Click here for advanced sending options button.

- Do the following:
- Uncheck the SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL) option.
- Uncheck the Override default SMTP port option - it should show port 25.
- Check the SMTP server requires authentication option.
- Select the Log in using option.
- In the Account ID field, enter your e-mail address.
- In the Password field, enter your e-mail password.

- Click the OK button.

- Close the Accounts window.
