Download Mozilla - For High-speed Connections & Other ISPs

Accessing the AT&T Worldnet servers from another ISP requires SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) security. Mozilla supports SSL for both e-mail and newsgroups. We haven't been able to get it to work for outgoing e-mail yet, but we have a couple of workarounds that we discuss later.

Note: You will need to find your AT&T Worldnet Service account information.

Add an E-Mail account

  1. Launch Mozilla and select Mail and Newsgroups from the Windows menu.
    Mail Step 1
  2. The Account Wizard should open. If the Mail and Newsgroups window opens, select Mail and Newsgroups Account settings from the Edit menu and click the Add Account button to open the Wizard.

Select Email account and click the Next button.
    New Account Setup

  3. Complete the fields as shown below and click the Next button.
    • Your Name: Enter the name you would like to show in the From field
    • Email Address: Enter your e-mail address
    Identity
  4. Select POP, enter the following information and then click the Next button.
    • Incoming Server: ipostoffice.worldnet.att.net
    • Outgoing Server: Your other ISP's outgoing SMTP mail server

If you are not sure what the SMTP server name is, contact your non-AT&T Worldnet ISP.
Note: If you don't want to use your other ISP's outgoing e-mail server, you can use an application called Stunnel to provide the needed SSL support. You'll find configuration information on our Stunnel page.
